Mr. Helms is a premier trial lawyer who has won numerous jury trials since beginning his career in 1986. As lead counsel, Mr. Helms has obtained some of the largest verdicts in the surrounding counties for injured clients. Mr. Helms has been active in the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, a statewide legal organization that specializes in the representation of people who have been the victims of negligent nursing homes, truck drivers, doctors, hospitals, corporate wrongdoing, and workplace injuries.
Mr. Helms and the Helms Law Firm’s commitment to helping others is not limited to providing legal services. Both Mr. Helms and his law firm actively participate to help everyone in the community. Mr. Helms and his family are longtime members of the Homerville United Methodist Church. While serving as chairman of the Building Committee, the Homerville United Methodist Church successfully undertook a building project exceeding $1 million. The new facilities are not only for the members of the Church, but are open to and used regularly by many individuals and groups in the community. The Helms Law Firm also administers the Clinch Christian Alliance, which takes donations from various churches and individuals in the community to give to those who are most in need, have fallen through, or have used up all other safety nets.
